Meet Dr. Furtado

An expert in herbal medicine, nutrition, detoxification and hormone balancing, a mother of five daughters and three grandchildren, a school garden program director, and an advocate for the environment, Dr. Kim brings her diverse experience to each patient and student. 

Kim D. Furtado, N.D. received her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine (N.D.) degree from Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington. (www.bastyr.edu) She also holds a Bachelor of Science Cum Laude in Biology from George Washington University in Washington, D.C.

Inspired by the healing power of earth-based natural medicine, Dr. Furtado is dedicated to continued education and research about health, healing and medicine.

Dr. Furtado's special interests include herbal medicine, nutrition, homeopathy, counseling, flower essence therapy, chronic illness and women's & children's health. She is also a doula (labor support person) and loves to support all mothers in their healing needs.

She dedicates her energy to sharing information about naturopathy and integrated health with the general and medical community.

She enjoys serving as a community resource and effective educator of lifestyle changes. Dr. Furtado is a member of the national organizations of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians (AANP).

She is also Program Director for the Delmarva Community Wellnet Foundation www.edendelmarva.org

Dr. Furtado views healing as an active journey on which she is honored to travel with each person. She is dedicated to the principles of naturopathic medicine and the knowledge that all medicine begins with prevention.
